When I stopped working, I found myself cutting back on expenses just so that I could generate more ‘operating capital’ for my business. Anyway, you’d probably be having too much fun with your business start-up to waste time on entertainment, buying DVDs, movies, going out to dinners, and shopping sprees just to name a few luxuries. You will be surprised how much money you can save for something of more value, your freedom!

Where do you keep these cheat sheets? Well, you can keep them just about anywhere. You can put them into Word or you can put them into an Excel spreadsheet. There are even some software programs out there, called mind mapping software, that you can get to handle it. Now, the example I gave you above is a simple one. But what if your task is designing a web site? There is a lot of work involved in such a project and the last thing you want to do is leave any of it to your memory.

The first thought comes – pyramid scheme. However, this thought is judging books by the cover and not by the contents. On a personal note, I believe the information that a home business opportunity can give you on how to create a successful business is worth its weight in gold, but people don’t see this benefit.

As I mentioned, I learned about the 10/90 rule from him. When I first read about this rule, it made me think about my network marketing career. For many years I attempted to build a network marketing business. And, I hate to, but must admit, I failed miserably. But, after understanding the rule, I know the reason I failed was simply that I took no time (let alone 10%) to find out the underlying laws, principles, rules, methods and techniques of successful action in the network marketing field. Notice, I did not find out the successful action. I primarily listened to the thoughts, hype and opinions of those who themselves had never taken the time to investigate how to be successful. Does that remind you of the blind leading the blind?

The great part about YouTube is that anyone in the world, no matter how old you are or where you live you can post videos on Youtube. So you could use YouTube to promote your business and it could be one of the most powerful tools your business has. It’s completely free and thousands and thousands of people can view it 24/7.

Lifestyle. Is work or family more important? Are you contended with “simpler living?” Do you desire a Porsche or BMW? Do you want to live in a mansion, a seafront house, etc? Do you have expensive hobbies life golf? These all cost money so tabulating the expenses and matching it to your income is necessary to achieve your lifestyle goals.

What is the very first thing I would recommend to a new business owner online? Well, the first thing I would do is to ask where your interests or passions lie. It is no use going after a niche that is profitable but you are not interested in; you won’t be able to keep at it for the long haul. I find that people stay in their business longer if they actually like what they are involved in.

Why not jump on the bandwagon like so many others have done before you? A home based business where you are only responsible for yourself and to have no restrictions like bells or timetables or bosses has to be the best possible lifestyle. Make 2009 your year. Any age any person can do this. If you are 15 or 70 you can still make your fortune. It just requires patience and a never ending supply of faith in you and your own abilities. Don’t rely on others, become self-sufficient and you will reap the rewards. I guarantee it.
